Resort policies

An advance deposit, per room in the amount of the first night's stay and tax is due at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable. 

The cancellation and change policy below applies to each individual confirmation number and is each subject to administrative fees.

• For specialty activities (golf, fishing, and family float trips) 50% of the total trip is due at the time of booking.

• Check-in time is any time after 4:00 PM 
• Check-out time is any time before 11:00 AM 
• Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express cards are accepted. 
• Personal Checks are not accepted. 
• Mountain Lake Lodge does not provide roll-a-way beds. 
• Due to the historic nature of the Main Stone Lodge, there are no televisions or air conditioning in the Main Lodge. All other accommodations have televisions and air conditioning. 

• We have a selection of dog-friendly rooms. $75 per dog fee. 

• Maximum TWO dogs. Advance notification is required. Select units only. 

• Be sure to request a dog-friendly room in advance and review the pet policies with a reservation agent. 

• No pets are allowed in the overnight rooms in the Main Stone Lodge

All guest rooms and facilities are non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside of the building. Smoking in a guest room will result in a $500 fee that will be charged to the credit card on file. 

Please note that there is no "in-room" housekeeping service during your stay. Stop by the front desk and let them know if you need any additional housekeeping supplies during our stay. 
 

Connecting rooms, early check-in, specific floors, views, specific room numbers, and other special requests are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. We will do our very best to accommodate these requests to the best of our ability. 

Stays are Mountain Lake Lodge are subject to a $12 per night amenity fee, paid at check-out. This fee allows Mountain Lake Lodge to continue to provide continued services and amenities.  

Should you need to cancel a room or activity, please contact the front desk at 540-626-7121 ext. 8. Only cancellations made through the front desk are guaranteed to be valid and an identifying number and cancellation email must be received by the guest for verification purposes. You may request a cancellation via email; however, it is not valid unless you have received a confirmed reply and cancellation email with an identifying number. 

All cancellations will be emailed directly to your email with your identifying number, as well as fees charged at that time. 
 

One complimentary change is granted per room. After this one-time complimentary change, each call to make changes to a room will be subject to a $30 administrative change fee. This includes changing the date, accommodation type, or number of people. 

All deals, promotional rates and packages are subject to availability and can change without notice. Offers cannot be combined. Blackout dates apply. 
 

• Motorhomes are not permitted. 
• Outdoor Grills are not permitted. 

 

Due to Mountain Lake Lodge elevation, temperatures are 10-15 degrees cooler than those at the base of the mountain (Blacksburg/Roanoke). The resort almost always enjoys a cool breeze during the day and cool, yet crisp evenings. We recommend our guests bring jackets. 

Chestnut Lodge, Norfolk, Dorland units offer wood-burning fireplaces. The first set of fire logs will be set for you along with a box of matches and fire starters. Additional crates of wood can be delivered to your room for $10/crate by dialing "0" for the hotel front desk.
